Microsoft Office Excel can use multiple processors since version 2007. For workstations this can be a useful function, but for a Server Bases Computing environment it is not.

The following option defines the processors used by Excel:

The default option is Use all processors on the computer. When changing this option to Manual and select the number of processors Excel the value is not saved after Excel has been closed and restarted. This is very annoying.

The following method allow you to set the maximum number of processors and save it;

1) Open Excel

2) Open Options

3) Browse to Formulas

4) Select the number of processors Excel can use or disable the function by de-selecting Enable multi-threaded calculation

5) Close Options

5) Save the empty XLSX file in the folder: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

Now the next time Excel is started, the option is saved!
